Serve as the primary point of contact with our customers by overseeing, coordinating, communicating, scheduling, and expediting the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments to expedite production and maintains contact with assigned customers on all aspects of the order. These activities are done to contribute to exceeding on-time delivery and customer satisfaction goals.


Ensures that customers’ requirements are satisfied by performing the following activities:

  • Frequently reviews all correspondences (i.e. voice mail messages, emails, faxes, mail) and responds to all requests in a timely manner.
  • Reviews master production schedule and work orders.
  • Reviews customer acknowledgements for delivery dates (stock or production).
  • Expedites job orders by reviewing customers MRP runs.
  • Issues RMA numbers when necessary and provides appropriate information when completing the RMA form.
  • Performs contract review of orders to ensure correct pricing, revision, etc.
  • Receives orders via phone or electronic means and initiates entry of order.
  • Reviews changes in customer delivery schedule to ensure that approved changes have been made and notifies appropriate personnel if any adjustments are required to be made in the production schedule.
  • Closes out of the open order system any completed jobs when they are shipped.
  • Acts as primary contact for all communications between the customer and the company concerning an order.
  • Releases additional run quantities as needed.
  • Notifies shipping and receiving of any unusual shipping requests (i.e. pickups).
  • Reviews scheduled start dates for jobs and analyzes work orders or reports to ensure on-time delivery for customer.
  • Establishes priorities for specific customer orders and recommends schedule changes to accomplish customer requirements.
  • Reviews any requests for changes in delivery.
  • Provides customers with weekly delivery updates making sure to notify a customer of any delay in meeting shipment date.
  • Performs all phases of customer service on a daily basis to accurately respond to customers' needs or problems in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates the work flow within or between departments to expedite production and keeps customers informed of any issues that may affect their on-time delivery.
  • Works across functions to expedite necessary information to the shop floor in order to assure accurate and timely shipment.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel of any major production problems or concerns.
  • Daily uses computer ERP system to track and update the progress of orders in the system.


Bachelor’s degree or previous role with 5 or more years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment, or demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.


  • Experienced computer user – MS Office suite and ERP systems (SAP, Epicor, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in oral and written form and interact appropriately with  customer and all levels of the company in order to execute job responsibilities.
  • Ability to handle a large workload through primarily electronic communication.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general reports, business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Organized, detailed, accurate, and able to set priorities among competing demands.
  • Ability to apply broad work experience and knowledge when analyzing complex problems.
  • Ability to understand a customer, their products, and operations.
  • Ability to create, maintain and/or enhance customer relationships
  • Ability to work with and through other functional areas to serve the customer.
  • Excellent troubleshooting/problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure: involves coping with stress and maintaining a composed, professional manner in all circumstances related to employees or customers.
