MACHINE OPERATORS

Summary:

Operates production machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, secondary equipment and grinders, to machine metallic and nonmetallic work pieces by performing the following duties:

Duties:

Operate production machinery (Multi, Haas, Mazak FH680, FH) to print specifications.
Visually and dimensionally inspect production parts for any defects.
Verify conformance of work piece to specifications, using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and go/no-go gauges. 
Read and interpret basic blueprints.
Read and interpret the Job Traveler for number of pieces, job rate, sequence of operation, etc...
Completes necessary job related paperwork to include tags, inspection documents, and production log.
Sorts, mark, or tag finished work.
Transport finished materials, manually or using pallet jack.
Observe daily preventative machine maintenance: proper coolant levels, filters, fan operation, clean machine, etc.

Requirements:

Ability to perform basic math shop skills of addition, subtraction, division, percentages and fraction conversions.
Basic computer skills to perform job/part inquiry, data collection or input.

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Able to lift, push or pull up to 45 lbs.
Specific vision ability--close 20/20 vision or corrected to 20/20 is required.
Pre-employment:  Vision Test, background check, drug screen, mini physical.
