Production Scheduler


Plans and prepares production schedules for production parts by performing the following duties.


*Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and led time of each operation to meet

  shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.

*Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data.

*Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established

  manufacturing sequences and lead times.

*Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

*Prepares production reports.

*Prepares and completes all necessary job related paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.

*Reviews master production schedule and work orders.

*Reviews customer acknowledgements for delivery dates (stock or production).

*Reviews customers MRP runs and makes necessary adjustments accordingly.

*Forecasts and schedules Jobs Orders.

*Releases additional run quantities as needed.

*Reviews scheduled start dates for jobs and analyzes work orders or reports to ensure on-time

  delivery for customer.

*Establishes priorities for specific customer orders and implements schedule changes to

  accomplish customer requirements.

*Reviews any requests for changes in delivery.

*Works with Production Planner, Engineering, Purchasing and production department

  supervisors to expedite necessary information to shop floor in order to assure accurate and timely completion of


*Communicates daily to Plant Manager of any major production problems or concerns.

*Expedites material as needed.

*Daily uses computer Vantage System to schedule, track and locate parts produced.

*Understands and follows Prince Industries quality certifications as it relates to the job. (i.e: ISO, QS)


*High school diploma or GED equivalent

*Minimum of 5 or more years previous work experience in production control or related

  machining environment

*Apprenticeship, formal training, college course work or continuing education preferred.



*Ability to read, analyze and interpret general reports, business periodicals or technical procedures.

*Ability to perform intermediate math skills and calculations.

*Good computer skills to create correspondences or necessary reports to operations.

*Excellent organizational skills required to schedule production and prioritize urgent matters.

*Ability to perform effectively under pressure: involves coping with stress and maintaining a

  composed, professional manner in all circumstances related to employees or customers.

*Knowledge of machine equipment.


*Regularly required to sit, stand or walk the duration of the shift, 8-10 hours.

*Occasionally required to lift, push or pull up to 30 lbs.

*Regularly exposed to moving machine parts.

*Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles resulting from metalworking coolants and oils.
